Background

Transtar are a UK based manufacturer of specialist lighting control gear. The high quality product range includes high frequency ballasts and chokes for fluorescent & HID luminaires, lighting capacitors and impulse ignitors.

The company has a reputation for quality service and prides itself not only on supplying superior products but also servicing non standard orders that may be difficult to source elsewhere.

Transtar was acquired by Hubbell Incorporated in 2005 and became part of the Hubbell Electrical Products group. Operations are now located in Glasgow, Scotland, where the company is continuing to build upon its history of designing high quality OEM control gear for the industrial and commercial lighting industries.

A large number of the products in the Transtar range are designed for use in hazardous areas, as such many have approval under the ATEX 94-9-EC directive.
